Koh Phi Phi consists of 6 islands: Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Ley, Bida Nok, Bida Nai, Yung and Bamboo. They lie approximately 48 km. from the mainland coast. The journey takes just a little over an hour. The name "Phi Phi" is derived from Pulao Pi ah Pi, which is Malay for island with mangroves. Later, it was corrupt to Phi Phi.

Journey to Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi is quite near to Phuket and Krabi. You can get to either Phuket or Krabi and take a speedboat to Koh Phi Phi.

Journey to Phuket and Krabi

Private car  From Bangkok, drive along Highway 4 to Phetchaburi, Prachub Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Phanga and Phuket. The total distance is 930 km. The journey takes 10 hours. Alternatively, when you arrive Chumphon, take Highway 41 and drive to Luang Suan district, Chaiya district, Aw Leuk district and Krabi. The total distance is 814 km. The journey takes 9 hours. 

Plane  It is the easiest way to travel. It takes only 2 hours

Coach  Those who want to save money and do not mind rough and long journey can take a coach at the Southern Routes Bus Terminal. Transport Co., Ltd. and Lignite Tour Co., Ltd. operate a coach service. The journey takes 12 hours.

ข้อมูลทั่วไปเกาะพีพี

หมู่เกาะพีพีเป็นเกาะในฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน อยู่ห่างจากชายฝั่งประมาณ 40 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาเดินทางแค่ 1 ชั่วโมงกว่าๆ เท่านั้น หมู่เกาะพีพีประกอบไปด้วยเกาะน้อยใหญ่จำนวน 6 เกาะ คือ เกาะพีพีเล เกาะพีพีดอน เกาะบิด๊ะนอก เกาะบิด๊ะใน เกาะยุง และเกาะไผ่  ส่วนที่มาของชื่อเกาะพีพีนั้นมาจากเมื่อก่อนชาวประมงเรียกเกาะนี้ว่า ปูเลาปิอาปิ แปลว่าเกาะที่มีต้นไม้ทะเล พวกต้นโกงกาง แสม หรือต้นปีปี ภายหลังจึงเพี้ยนมาออกเสียงว่า "พีพี" นั่นเอง
